Your Questions Answered - About HypnosisI have a problem. Can hypnotherapy help me? I believe that if you have considered hypnosis as a way of helping you overcome your problem, you already know that the root of that problem is in your mind. If your problem doesn’t seem to ‘make sense’ to you, for example you want to stop doing something but a part of your mind seems to prevent you. Or you would like to behave differently but somehow something seems to stop you, using hypnosis to get in touch with your subconscious mind, will help you to find the answers. Will I go ‘under’ when I’m hypnotised? Hypnosis is a natural state that we access every day, for example when we watch television or read a book, it’s that feeling of being ‘miles away’. Everyone experiences this state differently at different times. You may be able to access very deep levels of hypnosis, others may only experience light trance. Sometimes you might think you have drifted off to sleep, but most of the time you will be aware of where you are, just as though you were resting with your eyes closed. Will I remember anything after the session? If it’s important for you to remember the session, then you will, or maybe some memories of the session will return later when it’s more appropriate for you to remember them. I’m a bit nervous about having hypnosis. A short, free consultation appointment can be arranged if
you would like to meet me before therapy begins. I will always explain
exactly how the session will proceed. How many sessions will I need? Every person responds differently to change. For some of you a couple of sessions will see an end to your problem, for others more sessions will be needed. This will depend on the person, and the problem. Do you have weekend or evening appointments? Yes, I have various appointment times available to
suit you. |
