Your Questions Answered - Dental Anxiety

I hate going to the dentist, how can hypnotherapy help me?

I have worked as a dental hygienist for over 30 years and have met hundreds of people who were frightened of the dentist. By combining my dental experience with clinical hypnotherapy I have developed a unique audio CD programme that will help you overcome your fear.

I feel ashamed that I’ve neglected my mouth and I’m worried about what the dentist will say.

It is the job of the dentist and his or her team to help you have a healthy mouth (it’s what they get paid for!). A good dentist will be pleased you have asked for help in achieving your goal of a healthy mouth and a confident smile. If you do not feel comfortable with a dentist, find one that you do feel happy with. Your mouth is a very personal space that needs to be respected.

I had a horrible experience at the dentist and it has put me off going again.

Unfortunately I have heard this said far too often in my career. This is why I have developed HYPNODENTALTHERAPY. The programme explains how your fear has developed and how you can help yourself overcome those fears so that you can once again have a healthy mouth and confident smile.

I am worried that I will embarrass myself when I go to the dentist because I am so frightened.

HYPNODENTALTHERAPY will give you some control over your problem and help you feel much more relaxed about having dental treatment. Click here and read Geraldine’s story of how she overcame her fear by using the programme.

I have a problem of gagging when I go to the dentist, will the programme help?

This is a surprisingly common problem and the dental team are used to working with it. Because HYPNODENTALTHERAPY helps you to relax you should no longer experience this subconscious reflex, but if the reflex does persist, or if it is very severe, it could be that your subconscious mind is holding onto the problem for a ‘reason’ and further hypnotherapy sessions may be required to find out why.
